Getting a Perfect Investigation bonus is a great way to show off your impressive ghost-hunting skills in Phasmophobia, as well as put a little extra cash in your in-game pocket. However, getting that Perfect Investigation bonus can be tricky, and you’ll have to explore every inch of the map you take on. You’ll need to correctly identify the ghost, complete every task required, get at least 10 3-star pictures, and find the bone evidence. While this seems like a lot, getting that $50 bonus at the end will be pretty worth it.
What Is The Perfect Investigation Bonus and How Do You Get It?
The Perfect Investigation Bonus is an achievement you can get once per haunt that rewards you for being on top of your game. It allows you to get an extra $50 at the end of a haunt by completing all possible tasks, collecting 3-star photos, collecting bone evidence, and choosing the ghost type correctly. While this may seem like a lot, it really isn’t too bad once you’ve got a few games under your belt and you have a feel for how Phasmophobia works.
The tasks that you’ll take on on each map truly depend on where you’re heading after you leave the safe house. While some may require you to do specific tasks, others might not. When you get into the truck after starting a map, you can see the tasks lined up on the board underneath the ghost’s name and case number, as well as next to the sanity screen.
There are always three tasks. For our latest game, we needed to:
- Detect a ghost presence with a Motion Sensor
- Prevent the ghost from hunting with a Crucifix
- Get an average sanity below 25%
After completing all three tasks, you must correctly guess the ghost type. The ghost type can be determined by using the different gear that you have to rule out ghost types until you’re left with just one remaining. This can be done from your journal in-game. As you find different evidence, mark them down until you find the ghost.
You will also need a camera and ample time to hunt for bone evidence. Bone evidence can be found in a hidden location within any map. Sometimes, it’s pretty easy to uncover, and other times, you might spend the entire haunt trying to find it, entirely convinced that Kinetic Games just didn’t throw a bone into that specific map.
As you locate evidence of the ghost, it’s always great to take photos with a camera. 3-star photos can be taken of evidence types, such as fingerprints under a UV light, ghost footprints in salt, or even a burned-up Crucifix. You can also take photos of the ghost, items that the ghost has moved around, and more. However, it must have something to do with the ghost rather than just whatever odds and ends you find on the map. Be sure to get all 10 3-star photos to complete the Perfect Investigation Bonus in Phasmophobia.
