Lampent is yet another classic Pokemon making its way back into the games thanks to The Teal Mask DLC. As the first expansion to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the DLC offers plenty of content in the form of expanding your Pokedex. If you want to capture some nostalgia from earlier games in the franchise, this is the perfect opportunity. We’ll show you how to locate Lampent and what it takes to evolve it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The Ghost/Fire Pokemon Lampent is the middle of a three-evolutionary line. It starts out as the tiny Litwick before gaining more of a body and expanding in size. It’s not until it reaches its final evolution that it truly resembles a chandelier. You must own a specific item to evolve Lampent in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Unfortunately, Lampent is currently only available in Tera Raids. So, you may stand a better chance of catching a Litwick and evolving it into Lampent.

To catch Litwick, search near the Infernal Path or northeast of Kitakami around nighttime. You can evolve Litwick into Lampent quite easily. All you need to do is reach Level 41 with Litwick, a simple task since there’s a high chance you will find a Litwick at a high level already.

Evolving Lampent into Chandelure

Now that we have our Lampent, it’s time to evolve it into Chandelure. But it’s not as simple as raising the Pokemon’s level. Instead, you must give Lampent a specific item to hold: a Dusk Stone.

At this point, there is a strong chance you already own a Dusk Stone or several, thanks to your journeys. You can’t buy them, but there are two guaranteed locations to find a Dusk Stone in the base game:

  • Montenevera Gym
  • Cascarrafa

You can find a Dusk Stone to evolve Lampent in the grass behind the Montenevera Gym. Meanwhile, head east of Cascarrafa Town in the West Province. You can search north of the river and see the glowing Poke Ball that contains the Dusk Stone in a patch of grass near the cliffs.

Sometimes, the Dusk Stone may show up randomly in the wild. So, it pays to search every shiny Poke Ball you find. Also, if you have the funds for it, you can check out the Porto Miranda Auctions. These Auctions will occasionally have Dusk Stones up for grabs if you’re short on any to evolve Lampent.

Once you have your Dusk Stone, just give it to Lampent to hold. It should promptly evolve into Chandelure.
