Hinox is a giant Goblin enemy located throughout The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and defeating them may reward you with their coveted Horn. The Hinox Horn is a valuable item to make elixirs that help you regain health and stamina or increase gameplay attributes like swimming or stealth. Hinox Horns are also good items to fuse with your weapons to give them a boost. Unfortunately, Hinox are classified as boss enemies, meaning they are tougher and have rarer locations than most foes in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

The Hinox Horn is one of the many items dropped from a Hinox-typed enemy within Zeldaย Tears of the Kingdom. All types of Hinox are classified as bosses, and there are four in total:

  • Black Hinox
  • Blue Hinox
  • Hinox
  • Stalnox

Numerous Hinox and Talnox wander throughoutย Hyrule. The best locations to farm Hinox Horns inย Tears of the Kingdomย are:

  • Hyrule Ridge
  • West Necluda

The standard Hinox are red and are the easiest to take down, but they still require you to invest in the fight to defeat them. Hinox are slow, and their attacks are easy to predict. A Hinox will either try to stomp you with its feet or jump and smash on the ground to create an earthquake. If you’re near some trees, the Hinox will try grabbing a tree and using it as a sword.

While Hinox are easy to predict, if you get hit by one of their attacks, they will hurt a lot. If you don’t have plenty of Hearts or good armor equipped, a Hinox can take you down within only a few swipes of its feet.

The best strategy to defeat a Hinox for its Horn inย Zelda TotKย is to sneak behind it. Hinox typically spawn asleep, meaning they’re on their backs when you first encounter them. If you’re very stealthy, you can sneak to the back of a Hinox head without waking up the creature. Draw out your strongest weapon. The best weapons for a Hinox are a powerful axe, hammer, or stone-fused sword.

Charge your weapon with your stamina gauge and unleash your most powerful strike on the Hinox’s head. This will deplete a good chunk of the giant’s health bar. Having a great bow will also be useful in this fight, and we preferred the Lynel Bow. If you have bombs to spare, attach your bombs to your arrows and shoot them at the Hinox. You can even potentially stun a Hinox with an arrow if you hit it in the perfect spot on its head.
