Fae Farm is a charming game that joins the farming simulator crowd with a magical twist added. You can do all the usual farming activities. However, you can also make items to use or sell with the right resources. Many of these resources come from Critters, of which there are dozens you can discover throughout Azoria. Shell Bits in Fae Farm are one such resource. We’ll teach you everything you need to know about Shell Bits, where they come from, and how you can use them.

All About Shell Bits in Fae Farm

As you dive into the mystical world of Fae Farm, you’ll want to track down several different resources. These resources often allow you to participate in various activities like crafting, cooking, selling, etc.

When it comes to Shell Bits in Fae Farm, you can’t walk around and harvest the material. Instead, Shell Bits are a random drop from Critters. The following Critters can provide Shell Bits:

  • Crab
    • Sand Crab
    • Blue Crab
    • Hermit Crab
  • Brown Snail

None of these are rare Critters, so they should not be difficult to catch. Still, if you want a sure way to gather Shell Bits in Fae Farm, build the Lowlands Critter Conservatory. Add any captured Brown Snails to the Conservatory and get Shell Bits from there. The materials you need for it are listed below:

  • x5 Beach Lumber
  • x5 Stone Bricks
  • x20 Plant Fibers
  • x20 Silt

Remember that before you can build the Critter Conservatory, you must have a Lumber Station and a Stone Forge. Otherwise, you can’t get all the materials for the Conservatory.

The specific Crabs in Fae Farm only show up during certain seasons:

  • Sand Crab: Spring
  • Blue Crab: Any
  • Hermit Crab: Summer

The only way to catch Crabs in the game is to visit the beach. However, for the Brown Snail, you’ll go to the Lowlands at night or in rainy weather. Snails show up year-round though.

How To Use Shell Bits

In Fae Farm, Shell Bits act as a crafting material for potion brewing. You’ll need two of them along with two Spore Essences to craft a Warmth Potion. Using a Warmth Potion is the only way to travel through the Frozen Plateau. You won’t unlock the recipe for the Warmth Potion until you beat the game’s second dungeon. So, by the time you need Shell Bits, you may already have a good supply built up.
