Tantalus Cuffs in FFXIV
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

For the “Garlean Winter” theme for Fashion Report’s Week 262 in FFXIV, the Tantalus Cuffs have been selected as the ideal handwear choice for “Pirate’s in the Sky.” Accordingly, knowing how to get these gloves is crucial if you aim to participate in the Fashion Report and achieve an 80- or 100-point score. As a Level 1 Hands gear piece with 8 Defense and 14 Magic Defense, it is not hard to imagine that these gloves are sold at Eorzean armory vendors or craftable by Weavers. However, the Tantalus Cuffs of Final Fantasy XIV cannot be crafted nor sold on the Market Board.

Unlocking the Tantalus Cuffs in FFXIV

Rank 2 Reward for Final Fantasy XIV Subscription Tantalus Attire and Cuffs

The only way to get the Tantalus Cuffs Glamour gloves in FFXIV is through the Veteran Reward system, which grants those subscribed a certain number of days an exclusive reward. If you have subscribed to Final Fantasy XIV for 150 days, you will receive the Tantalus Attire as the Rank 2 Reward, which includes a Vest, Cuffs, Breeches, and Boots.

You can receive your Tantalus Attire and Cuffs through the Moogle Delivery Service if your account has had an active FFXIV subscription for 150 days. Luckily, this does not mean you have to play or log into the game every day for 150 days; instead, you only need to have an active subscription that has lasted over a 150-day period. Additionally, The Lodestone goes on to clarify that those who have purchased the up-front cost of “bundled days” instead of a monthly payment plan will receive their rewards immediately since their subscription is intrinsically set to last the duration.

For instance, if you have been subscribed to Final Fantasy XIV for only 100 days, you can buy a bundle deal that boosts your subscription to 190 days, automatically granting you the Tantalus Cuffs. While such an action will undoubtedly be worthwhile for those who play FFXIV regularly, those who play on an on-and-off basis might feel hesitant to make the investment. Fortunately, here are several alternatives to the gloves for the Fashion Report that are still ideal for the Garlean Winter theme:

  • Sky Pirate’s Gauntlets of Fending
  • Sky Pirate’s Gauntlets of Maiming
  • Sky Pirate’s Gloves of Striking
  • Sky Pirate’s Gloves of Scouting
  • Sky Pirate’s Gloves of Aiming
  • Sky Pirate’s Gloves of Healing
