Collecting peculiar Deviant creatures is essential to optimize your gameplay in Netease’s survival crafting game. Some will automate resource generation in your home, while some can help increase the effectiveness of crafted items. In Chefosaurus’ case, it can cook meals faster and boost the effects of dishes it helped create. Thankfully, the Chefosaurus Rex is an early-game Deviant that you can quickly capture after reaching the second safe zone in Once Human.
Chefosaurus Rex Deviant Location in Once Human
Once you reach Meyer’s Market at around Level 15, the eccentric Lowe will have a new task for you. This time, he’ll assign you the “There’s A Dragon Here” quest and ask you to take care of the Chefosaurus in Sunbury. Keep in mind that Sunbury is crawling with Level 17 Vultures so be prepared for long-range engagements.
The cooking dragon can be found inside the 7-story building next to the chicken restaurant with a huge parking lot, at 4774, -6913 coordinates. The weird Deviant will be busy cooking in the kitchen and ask you to bring 3 dishes to satisfy its cravings:
- Roasted Fruit Dish: Cook any fruit.
- Roasted Meat Dish: Cook any meat.
- Steak Combo: Any Meat + Salt x1. The recipe is unlocked from the Dishes II node in the Logistics Memetic menu.
You can prepare them before meeting Chefosaurus Rex in Once Human, but you can also cook them on the spot as there’s a stove in the kitchen.
But completing the sidequest is not the only way to get the Deviant. Chefosaurus also spawns in the Level 25 Securement Silo PHI, at 5177, -2934, south of Greywater Camp in Red Sands. Instead of looting the Gear Crate in the Central Control Room for the access card to the Depot boss room, enter the elevator. You’ll be taken to a hospital reception corridor; go to the end of the hallway, enter a portal, and you should arrive in a children’s bedroom.
If you’re lucky, a Chefosaurus Rex Once Human Deviant will be waiting for you along with a Gear Crate. However, the creature is not a guaranteed spawn so you might want to run this dungeon a few times to get it. We consider the walking plushie to be an A-tier Deviant; for the complete list, check out our Deviant Tier List guide.
