Those who have spent at least a couple of hours in Baldur’s Gate 3 got used to the fact that this game has too much content. No matter where you go, who you talk to, or what rock you look under, you will almost certainly get a new quest or a rare reward. So when you hear about the mysterious Sentient Amulet, you do not doubt this item is worth your attention. Besides being a good item for any Monk, this amulet can curse your characters with a very unusual curse. So, here we will tell you all about the Sentient Amulet and how to get it in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).
Where To Find The Sentient Amulet in BG3
To find the Sentient Amulet in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3), travel to Grymforge and open the Adamantine Chest in the Adamantine Forge area. The approximate coordinates of this chest are X: 626 and Y: 224. But before you rush here, you should solve a few problems. The first of them is lava elemental, because of which it is too hot in this location. We advise you to kill it as soon as possible so you can safely explore the premises.
The second problem is that the Adamantine Chest is locked, and you have to open it in one of the following ways:
- If you have Rogue on your team, you can try to pick the lock to get the contents. It should not be difficult for a character with a high Dexterity score. Still, at the same time, characters without the appropriate skills will have to overcome a dice roll difficulty of 20+.
- Therefore, an alternative way allows you to get the key to the chest. You only need to get to the skeleton on the opposite bank of the lava river and search it.
What Is The Sentient Amulet?
As we said earlier, the Sentient Amulet previously belonged to a cursed monk. This poor fellow was obliged to laugh forever, and his spirit dreams of getting rid of this curse. When holding the Sentient Amulet, you must succeed on a Wisdom check, as the amulet will try to make you laugh. Failing a Wisdom check will result in you being cursed. So let your companion with the highest Wisdom make this check.
After examining the amulet, you will see the spirit of a monk who will ask you to help him and take the Sentient Amulet to his granddaughter. If you accept the Help the Cursed Monk side quest, you can complete it in Act 3. Completing the quest will earn you the unique Tasha’s Hideous Laughter spell, but you will lose the amulet. At the same time, refusing the side quest will result in a battle with the spirit. But you will be able to equip Sentient Amulet.
Equipping this amulet will give you a decent level 2 Shatter spell and the ability to restore two additional ki points per long rest. In addition, you can speak with the ghosts inside the amulet as a free action.
