This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Even though Coral Island requires the player to manual labor during many farming activities, you can automate some processes, and Crawler Trap is one of these ways. Being a simple structure made of Wood, Seaweed, and Silver, this trap can automatically catch sea creatures crawling across the sand. Thanks to this, you can save a lot of time, which you spend more usefully. After all, no one likes the eternal search for a rare sea star at a depth of 50 meters. Creating and using a Crawler Trap is a relatively simple process, but there are some nuances that you should be aware of.

Before you can craft a Crawler Trap, you need to unlock its recipe by reaching Catching level 5. You must catch bugs and sea creatures with your hand in the first hours of gameplay, whether you like it or not. However, this is not so difficult since you can quickly reach Catching Level 3 by walking around the entire island or through the large forest in the western part of the map. Having reached this mark, you can craft several Ground insect traps that will speed up and somewhat automate the leveling process.

Of course, some players will need quite a lot of time to fulfill this requirement. But once you succeed, you can craft Crawler Trap in Coral Island in the crafting menu using the following materials:

  • x5 Wood. You can get this material by cutting down trees, branches, stumps, and logs.
  • x5 Seaweed. Use Scythe to cut Sea Grass while diving to collect tons of this material.
  • x1 Silver Bar. To make one Silver Bar, you only need to place 5 Silver Ore and 1 Coal in the Furnace. As for mining ore and coal, you can get them by breaking rocks and ore nodes using Pickaxe.

Coral Island: Using Crawler Trap

Once you craft the Crawler Trap, all you have to do is go to sea and use the new device. Of course, you can just put it on the sand and wait, but let’s look at the main things that you should know:
You can place a Crawler Trap anywhere on the underwater map in a 1×1 cell area, except caves and buildings.

  • You can use Crawler Trap at any depth without any upgrades.
  • This trap will catch all crawling sea creatures that spawn near it. These creatures include Crabs, Lobsters, and Sea Stars but do not include fish.
  • There is also a chance that a random creature will spawn in the trap at night. Using Crawling Critter Scent increases the chance of at least one creature spawning per night to 100%. You can create two Scents by placing 5 Seaweed and 1 Flower in the crafting menu or buy it for 50 Coins at the Beach Shack.
  • The Crawler Trap can only catch and spawn in it those sea creatures that live in this zone. So, choose a place to install a trap based on your needs.
