The Wicked Implement is a rather hard-to-get exotic scout rifle in Destiny 2. It is one of the weapons added during the Season of the Deep, having a sea theme for its Lightfall expansion. While the weapon is available right now, the developers only introduced the coveted rifle after mid-season. Fortunately, we can help you get more information on the weapon and the entire process of getting this amazing weapon. Here’s everything you need to know about the Wicked Implement in Destiny 2 and how to get it.
Guide to Acquire Wicked Implement in Destiny 2
Getting the Wicked Implement weapon is a long process, but we will break it down into simple steps.
Fishing Exotic Fish – The first step is to catch some exotic fish. Start off with fishing for Whispering Mothcarp in the Throne World. Next, fish for Vexing Placoderm on Nessus. Last, fish for the Aeonian Alpha-Betta Exotic fish in the EDZ. Once you have obtained each exotic fish, head to the Helm and deposit them into the aquarium. This action will reward you with a Broken Blade Quest item for each fish. You can track your progress by accessing your fishing tackle box in your inventory.
Depositing Blades – After acquiring all three broken blades, proceed to a Deep Dives seasonal activity and interact with three Hive statues to deposit the broken blades. It’s important to note that only one person in your fireteam needs to deposit the broken blades to activate the quest. This means that if you join a fireteam with someone who already has all the exotic fish, you don’t need to obtain them yourself. Upon completing the quest, you will still receive the weapon. You can deposit the first blade into the statue just before the first encounter. The second blade into the statue after the first encounter in the same room. For depositing the third blade, you need to spin the blade between the first and second encounters.
The Whetstone encounter – Once you place all the three blades in their respective position a new door will unlock. Now you or your team needs to reactivate the statues in the room with the inscription “Path of violence”.
Fight the first boss– Travel the underwater sections and fight the Taken enemies. You will also face the first boss here. You can only damage it after killing the three yellow-bar minotaurs to acquire a buff. This will allow you to damage the Taken Knight severely. The fight has a 10-minute timer so come prepared with your strategy.
Second boss fight – The Tormentor boss will chase you as you traverse the maze like environment. Similar to the previous boss, you need to defeat the three minotaurs first to gather the “Deathly Sharp” buff. This will give you a minute to damage the boss.
Once you defeat the second boss, you can claim the power from the Winnower statue to get Wicked Implement.
Destiny 2 Wicked Implement Catalyst
While getting the Wicked Implement exotic scout rifle is an impressive achievement, acquiring its catalyst is the cherry on top. The catalyst has an important function of overflowing your weapon magazine once you collect Stasis shards. Unfortunately, the catalyst will drop randomly in the Deep Dive missions.
Wicked Implement Perks in Destiny 2
Exotic Intrinsic Perk: Creeping Attrition — Slowing targets by landing rapid precision hits.
Exotic Traits — While the Creeping Attrition perk is active, landing precision final blows creates a Stasis shard that returns to you. Collecting Stasis shards refills the magazine.
Exotic Catalyst — A gradual magazine overflow after collecting Stasis shards.
That covers everything you need to know about the new exotic scout rifle, Wicked Implement in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 is available on PlayStation devices, Xbox devices, and Windows.
