Restoring your HP may possibly be one of the most crucial mechanics when it comes to Square Enix’s action-RPG sequel. Yes, knowing how to pressure and stagger your opponents is all fine and dandy, but what happens when the going gets tough and you’re low on health? Well, that’s where we come in. Down below, we’ll clue you in on how to heal in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Let’s get cracking, shall we?
How to Restore Your HP
There are three different methods to heal in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and they are as follows:
- Using restorative items such as Potions or Elixirs – These are consumables that are expended on use. To use them during battle, you’ll need to open up your Commands menu and consume an ATB charge. Outside of battle, however, will not consume an ATB charge. To use a restorative item outside of combat, hold down L1 and select the specific healing item.
- Using restorative spells such as Cure – These cost both MP and an ATB charge to use during battle. Outside of battle, they do require MP, but do not require an ATB charge. To use a restorative spell outside of combat, simply hold down L1 and select the spell.
- Resting at Inns, Benches, or Chocobo Stops – Resting at Inns and Benches fully restores your party’s HP and MP. Meanwhile, Chocobo Stops function as fast travel points and also fully heal your HP and MP, though you’ll need Cushions to do this.
Of course, we highly recommend to prioritise healing up your party when their health bars are looking low. Otherwise, you run the risk of a character dying in battle. Don’t worry, though. If one of your party make it through the combat encounter alive, downed party members still obtain XP from the battle.
