At the same time, in the God of War game series and, in particular, God of War Ragnarok, this is system differently. Performing all the same steps above, you will receive XP. But here, XP is the currency you can buy skills for your character. The more XP you earn, the more abilities you can upgrade.
At the same time, your skills will not affect the level of your character or the general characteristics of Kratos in any way. The only way to level up in God of War Ragnarok is to upgrade your weapons and equipment. At this point, the two character upgrade systems begin to interact. Find a balance between increasing skills, upgrading gear and weapons, and increasing Kratos’s stats. One cannot perfect work without the other.

How to Increase Gear Level in God of War Ragnarok
As for the increased gear level, everything is quite simple. You can get all the weapons and equipment as you progress through the story. You will receive new armor and weapon parts from legendary chests or after defeating a dangerous boss.
To increase the gear level in God of War Ragnarok, you must visit Brok and Sindri’s shop. These guys will gladly upgrade your equipment if you are willing to pay and bring some materials. For the first upgrades, you will have to look for materials such as Rawhide or Forged Iron. But if you want to upgrade higher-level weapons, be patient and look for rare materials like Stonewood.
It is also worth noting that the maximum level of Kratos is relatively low. So the character level will increase slowly.
