Even though the popular and critically acclaimed Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has been out for a little bit, there are still a few things that players haven’t quite grasped yet. In the fifth season of the game, two of the most common and arguably the most important things that people don’t know how to do are how to use reinforcement flares and how to slide cancel. Slide cancel isn’t very popular among some players, while others feel it is a quick and effective way to gain a bit of a speed boost. We outlined precisely how to slide cancel in Warzone 2 down below.

Can You Slide Cancel in Warzone 2

Before you can learn how to slide cancel in Warzone 2, you need to know whether or not it is a gameplay mechanic that you can do at all. The short answer is yes, you can slide cancel in Warzone 2. This is because all of the gameplay mechanics from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are transferred in the exact same way as in the battle royale.

After that, all you need to do a slide cancel are the following movements as quickly as possible while doing a regular sprint:

  • Slide
  • Aim down sights
  • Perform a melee attack
  • Jump

If you try to do the above while doing a tactical sprint, then it won’t work. You can also choose to change your in-game weapon mount activation settings for a different way to slide cancel. Go to the weapon mount activation settings and switch on Double Tap ADS. Then, you will also be able to perform the move by pressing the following buttons as quickly as you can:

  • Slide
  • ADS
  • ADS
  • Jump

You might want to practice a few times, but you’ll know that you’ve done it when you slide for a moment and then immediately stand up. Fortunately, that’s all that there is to it.

Is It Worth It To Slide Cancel in Warzone 2?

Realistically, if you’re trying to slide cancel to best your opponents and get a leg up, it isn’t worth leaning on it. In the heat of the battle, although it provides a bit of an advantage, it isn’t as useful as you would think. Considering that, you might want to learn how to do it just for the sake of saying that you can. There are so many other things that you can try mastering in Warzone 2, like learning a superpower like your favorite character from The Boys.
