I’ve been experiencing so much lag in MultiVersus that it’s impossible for other players not to be experiencing the same thing. There’s nothing more frustrating than being mid-battle and feeling like you’re fighting against luck as your inputs are delayed. The worst part is that it doesn’t happen all the time; just sometimes. Let’s dive into how to fix the input lag in MultiVersus in different ways.

Steps to Fixing Input Lag in MultiVersus
To fix the input lag in MultiVersus, I recommend going through each of the following fixes:
- Check the Server’s Status
- Lower the Graphics Settings
- Restart the Game/ Your PC or Console
- Reinstall the Game
- Verify Game Files on Steam
Personally, the issue was fixed after lowering the graphics settings, but restarting the game as well as uninstalling and reinstalling helps this problem in most other games.
Check the Server’s Status
There’s no way to check the MultiVersus servers in-game. However, the official Twitter/X account for the game will post whenever the servers are undergoing maintenance or are having issues. I also recommend checking the website Downdetector for this.
Lower the Graphics Settings
MultiVersus doesn’t require the most powerful computer to play, but the graphics could still be an issue. More specifically, ensure that you change the One Frame Input Lag in the game’s settings. This setting is more for older PCs, but could also very well be the lag fix.
Restart the Game/ Your PC or Console
Close the game completely and do not open it for a few seconds. If this doesn’t solve the issue when you jump back in, restart your PC or console. When you restart the device, let it start up naturally instead of immediately starting the game up. Once all of your PC applications or anything that your consoles start with ends, then open MultiVersus.
Reinstall the Game
On either console or PC, completely uninstall MultiVersus. After uninstalling, you can immediately reinstall and you shouldn’t have a lag issue anymore.
Verify Game Files on Steam
Go into your Steam library and right-click on MultiVersus. Go into the Properties and select to verify the game’s files. If there happens to be an issue, it will be rectified through this solution. WHen you jump back in, lag problems should be gone.
MultiVersus is available to play on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
