While you can complete the game with either of the two starting Shells, you’ll be missing out on some of the most powerful ones, especially Eredim. This heavy knight is capable of dishing out a lot of damage, breaking enemies easily, and even executing some foes if certain conditions are met. Since he is an absolute upgrade compared to the first two Shells, here we have a guide to show you how to unlock Eredim in Mortal Shell 2.
Eredim Location in Mortal Shell 2

To locate Eredim in Mortal Shell 2, you can use your Glimpse to get clues of his whereabouts or head to the northwest part of the first area until you locate the Citadel. This is a dungeon-like area, which has Eredim’s Shell at the bottom. However, reaching it is easier said than done.

First, you will need to head south of the Citadel and face the Bloodcursed Lithopod boss. It is extremely easy to beat, as it shares some moves from its smaller counterparts. Once you defeat it, you’ll get the Citadel Gate Lever.

With the item in your inventory, you can now return to the gate up the road and use it to gain access to the Citadel. Remember that there’s a Beacon on the right side of the Citadel, so unlock it before moving forward.

Here, you can do a bit of exploring, but if you want to unlock Eredim as fast as possible, you’ll need to stick to the right side of the Citadel, mainly on the bottom floor.

Here, you’ll see a corridor with an opening that has an elevator. Step on the elevator, and it will take you all the way to the center of the Citadel. Run toward the center, and you’ll get a jump scare followed by a boss fight.

You will have to defeat The Warden to unlock Eredim, whose Shell is in this exact arena. If you’re struggling to defeat The Warden, switch to Tiel and dodge his attacks. Then, use his skill to apply poison and just wait until his HP wears down. After that, interact with Eredim, and he will be yours.
In terms of usefulness, Eredim is an upgrade over Tiel and Proxima. He has an AoE-like skill that allows him to Break enemies, a charge tackle that does a lot of Break damage, and his passive lets him execute enemies who are at a low HP threshold. On top of that, he’s quite beefy, so he’s excellent for a tank-oriented playthrough.
