Just like Freelancer mode in World of Assassination, 007 First Light also has its “endgame mode,” so to speak, called Tactical Sim, or TacSim for short. This mode serves as a way to challenge all Bonds in the world to reach the higher score, but also to earn points to unlock gadget upgrades, weapon skins, and outfits that you can use exclusively in this mode. And since this side activity is just as addictive as Freelancer, here we have a guide on how to unlock Tactical Sim in 007 First Light.
Unlocking Tactical Sim in 007 First Light

To unlock TacSim in 007 First Light, you need to complete the game’s first chapter up to the point where you get your gadgets at MI6. Once you complete those steps, you’ll get the notification that TacSim has been unlocked, and you can now access it through the main menu. However, you can only play TacSim challenges while being in online mode, so make sure to be connected to the internet.
At first, you’ll only have access to Advanced Combat Training and Advanced Melee Training. The other missions unlock after completing the campaign. So, if you really want to rush through everything TacSim has, we recommend focusing on the main story first.
With everything unlocked, you’ll notice there are two types of content: Operations and Escalations. The former are all about larger stages with specific challenges, while the latter have three tiers that increase in difficulty.
However, you won’t be playing just for the sake of playing, as there are a couple of rewards you can obtain by going through Tactical Sim in 007 First Light.

As you can see in the image, there are different rewards you can obtain by spending intel and ranking up in TacSim. For example, there are three outfits in the store, one of which costs 1,000 Intel, and others that require you to be ranks 6 and 12. On top of that, you can also purchase gadget upgrades, weapons, weapon skins, gadget skins, and so on. It is important to chase these upgrades and items, as you’ll start your Tactical Sim runs in 007 First Light with your Q-Watch and service pistol only.
While the mode has some missions already, remember that IO Interactive has already confirmed that it will add more things in the future, probably like what the studio did for Hitman: World of Assassination after launch. So, keep an eye out for whatever the developers add in the coming months.
