How to Unlock the Handcannon in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The famous Handcannon, a magnum, is well-known to anyone who played the original game. The one found in the remake is much the same, albeit with some slight changes.
If you were a fan, simply want a more powerful handgun in Resident Evil 4 Remake, or are just a completionist who strives to unlock every weapon, the Handcannon is a must-have. But it is an elite-rated gun. So, it’s not just handed to you. Instead, it will take you some time to unlock this magnum.
The first thing you must do is complete the game in any way because the Handcannon is only available after your first playthrough. Now, start a new game (not NG+) and complete this playthrough with an A-rank on Professional Difficulty.
Note that if you want to unlock the Handcannon, you cannot use any other Resident Evil 4 Remake bonus weapons. This is called the Professional Agent Challenge. When the Handcannon is unlocked, it will first be in the extra content shop for 1,000 completion points. Next, once you buy that, it will show up in your Typewriter storage when you start a new game.
As you can see, unlocking this weapon will certainly present a challenge since you cannot use all those cool bonus and secret weapons. So, perhaps it is best to tackle said challenge once you get a feel for the game.

Handcannon Stats in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Before you work through the long task of unlocking the Handcannon, let’s check out its stats so you can see if it is a gun you truly want to use.
For starters, it is known to one-shot some enemies and make taking down bosses quicker and easier. If you’ve played the original RE4 game, then you may notice that it doesn’t seem quite as powerful as before. But it still can pack quite a punch.
Below are the starting stats for the Handcannon you can unlock in Resident Evil 4 Remake:

- Ammo Capacity:Â 5
- Reload Speed:Â 0.46
- Rate of Fire:Â 0.52
- Precision:Â 1.80
A fun thing about the Handcannon is that you can unlock an exclusive upgrade perk: Infinite Ammo. To do so, you must first unlock every upgrade for the Handcannon. This should cost you around 540,000 PTAS. So, definitely not cheap, but worth it if you don’t want to constantly seek out ammo.
Or, if you lack the funds, try to get an Exclusive Upgrade Ticket from the Merchant. You’ll get the ammo perk immediately this way.
