Waterwing mount is the new machine added in the Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC. As the name suggests, the Waterwing can go underwater while able to go up flying so high in the sky. The Waterwing mount in Burning Shores DLC lets players go to some locations they could not reach before, and here’s how you can unlock it!

How To Unlock and Find The Waterwing Mount in Burning Shores

To mount the machines in the Horizon Forbidden West, you need to override them. These features are usually unlocked by progressing through story and side missions. This rule also stays the same for the Waterwing mount in Burning Shores DLC. The story addition in this new content isn’t that much, either. You’ll unlock the Waterwing in Burning Shores in the early missions.

Now after you’ve unlocked the override for Waterwing, you can spot some locations on the map called “Waterwing Mount Site.” These sites are for finding a particular robotic creature in Horizon Forbidden West. When you reach one of the Waterwing mount sites, you’ll find many of them waiting to become Aloy’s mate! All you need to do is get closer quietly and try to override one. After that, the Waterwing mount is ready for a fly or maybe an underwater swim.

The Waterwing in Burning Shores is undoubtedly a handy machine to travel in the Horizon Forbidden West‘s world. Still, you should know that this creature can defend itself well. In fact, if enemies attack the Waterwing, it tries to evade and block their force. However, it is up to you to shoot projectiles with it to take down the baddies. You should also know that the Waterwing is well structured to survive in battles, so, no need to worry about your ride while under fire.

Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores is available now for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
