The open world in Hogwarts Legacy is truly a gem to explore. However, running around can get a bit old at times. Also, you don’t always want to fast travel via Floo Flames. That’s best used when you need to finish a quest quickly. So, how do you explore and do so in a way that’s not tiresome? You fly, of course. Once you get your broom in Hogwarts Legacy, you can work to upgrade it so that it performs as best as possible. We’ll show you everything you need to do to gain those upgrades.
Before you can work on upgrading your broom, you need to buy one first. Thankfully, it won’t take you too long to get a broom in Hogwarts Legacy. In fact, you can unlock the ability to purchase one at Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade within your first few days at Hogwarts. Some may even come via challenges.
Now, once you purchase your Hogwarts Legacy broom, you can work toward an upgrade. Buying your first broom unlocks the “Flight Test” sidequest. In this, Mr. Weekes tells you to head to the Quidditch Pitch to meet Imelda Reyes. Simply walk up to her and you will kick off the timed flying trials.
Just take part in the trials, flying through the rings until you reach the end. You don’t have to hit every single ring, but missing one will cost you valuable time per missed ring.
To upgrade your broom in Hogwarts Legacy, you need to beat the fastest time in the trial. Once you do, speak to Imelda and then to Weekes to conclude the quest. Once Weekes knows that you set a new record, he will work on an upgrade. Just wait for his Owl Post to inform you the upgrade is ready. It will cost you 1,000 gold, so be prepared for that.
