The Coop Ledger is a mechanic you’ll use whenever you register your animals in Fae Farm, namely Chickoos and Cottontails. These two small domestic creatures produce Eggs and Raw Cotton, respectively, the latter of which you’ll need for many notable crafting recipes. However, before you start caring for or breeding livestock for their products, you’ll need to understand how the Coop Ledger works in Fae Farm. Without it, registering animals on your farmstead is not possible.
How to Register Animals in Fae Farm
After purchasing your first Chickoo or Cottontail from Earline, you can register your animal in Fae Farm using the Coop Ledger. After the purchase is complete, the creature will spawn and follow you back to your farmstead. Once you arrive, interact with the pedestal with the book, quill, and inkwell to perform the registering process.
Upon opening the Coop Ledger in Fae Farm, you’ll see six slots available for your Chickoos and Cottontails. Select any slot and then navigate to the button on the right to register or transfer the animal to the Coop. This menu is also where you can sell your livestock or have it leave the Coop and follow you.
After you’ve cleared out the black mist from the hill east of your Forest Farm, you’ll gain access to the Barn. Like the Coop, the structure possesses a Barn Ledger, where you can manage your Woolyhorns and Mamoos. The procedure for having these two animals follow you or be sold via the ledger is identical to the Coop.
For clarification, we’ll go over the steps once more of how the Coop Ledger works in Fae Farm:
- After buying an animal, return to your farmstead.
- Interact with the book-and-quill pedestal to the left of the Coop (or Barn).
- Choose any open slot and register your livestock, adding it to its new home.
