Starting fights with people in authority isn’t a new thing. In fact, it has been happening for a long time. Things can easily escalate by just a simple move or a word. Sometimes, innocent people might get involved too. This time, a dog was caught in the chaos of a fight between Illinois citizens and a privatized K9 unit. It took place at a station in Chicago and let’s just say that things didn’t go well. You don’t get to know what even started the fight due to everyone speaking at the same time. What you get to see is the K9 unit going against a group of people. One of the men in the unit has a dog with him and he has his muzzle removed.
The two groups are pushing each other around and one of the Illinois citizens even threw a trash can at the man with the dog. This made the innocent dog hit a train that had stopped at the station. His owner is leaning on the train which caused him to push the dog with his leg against the train several times. Things then get worse as the pushing turned into punching.
The group corners the man with the dog and starts attacking him not caring about the dog’s well-being. Someone even threw a trash can at the two. When the owner finally manages to get away, his dog starts attacking those who get near; he is trying to bite them as they jump back. What is clear, though, is that the owner had no control over the dog at all. The attack on the dog continued as one of the group tried to pull the dog away using its fur. Before the video ends, you can hear a woman saying that someone was bitten.
People Reacting to the Illinois Citizens and the K9 Unit’s Fight
Nobody in the comments had information on why the fight between the Illinois citizens and the K9 unit started in the first place. What was very clear, though, was that everyone felt bad for the dog. “That poor f**king dog,” one person wrote. Someone thankfully provided some context about the K9 unit as they said:
“I live in Chicago. I’m not sure what started this video but K9 security was the L’s response to not having Chicago police patrol the stations/trains. These employees are often very young, not armed, and just sit on their phones. You can try to grab one if someone is smoking crack on the platform and they just walk away. Their dogs, to no fault of the dogs, are either poorly trained or the ‘handlers’ have no idea what they’re doing. Likely both. This dog was super timid. I’ve seen their dogs snapping at people for just walking by and their dogs are always in muzzles. It’s a huge city scam.”
Others pointed out that due to the poor handling of the dog, it was now ruined. “Training has gone to shit. It’s in a situation where it’s handler is acting irrationally and not issuing commands in a chaotic time. It doesn’t know what the hell to do, and may not ever again, or trust a handler,” one person said. Someone else claimed that this wasn’t a bite dog as they wrote, “That dog has to be a sniffer dog because it sure as hell ain’t an attack dog.” This made another person say another claim which was that the dog was just a pet and not trained. “It must just be the dudes pet. It’s behaving just like my dog would if people were shouting and being wild. He doesn’t want to bite anyone,” they wrote. The only update you get to know is that three of the Illinois citizens involved in the fight were arrested. Honestly, I just hope that someone will take the dog away from this guy because he put him in danger.
