A Black influencer in Illinois is currently facing backlash online after a video circulated showing him repeatedly offering money to a White homeless man, only to take it back again during the interaction.

It appeared the interaction took place at a subway station. As the homeless man was walking by, the influencer asked if he needed money while showing a $100 bill. When the man reached out to take it, the influencer pulled it back at the last moment, preventing him from actually receiving the money.

After the incident, the influencer began mocking the man. He said, “White boy. You bogus boy. Use your privilege and get a job. Get job, boy. You White boy. You’re not supposed to be broke,” while continuing to taunt him. He also made a remark claiming the homeless man was “400 years ahead,” referencing his race during the exchange.

As the man walked away, the influencer told him he was “just playing” and again offered him the money. When the homeless man reached to take it, the influencer pulled it back once more. Following this, he and a friend started laughing. The influencer then said, “Go get you a [expletive] job, [n-word],” according to what was captured in the video.

The influencer tried once again to deceive the homeless man in Illinois, claiming he was “just playing” and that he was filming content. This time, however, the man did not believe him. The video ended as a train arrived and the homeless man appeared to board it. Throughout the moment, the influencer and his friend were still laughing as the man left.

Outrage Following Humiliating Video in Illinois

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers reacted with outrage to the video involving the influencer and the homeless man in Illinois, with some accusing the influencer’s actions of being discriminatory and exploitative. One commenter wrote, “RACIST IS AS RACIST DOES! Yes, racist! THAT white man has no privilege, but the racist spouts the narrative, mocking an obviously broken person, for fun and content,” while another added, “Yeah, could use your actual privilege being black for Affirmative Action/DEI in hiring, promotions, easier entry into higher education. That ignorant, ‘influencer’ needs to learn cause and effect.”

More viewers expressed outrage over the video. One commenter wrote, “What a vile evil [expletive], and blacks wonder why white people want nothing to do with them. Always victims wanting reparations for something that does not affect them. They believe they are above the law and can do whatever they want.” Another person focused on supporting the homeless man, saying, “Privilege, huh? We should make a go fund me and find this guy. Time to start taking care of our people, since no one else will.”

The video left many viewers upset, with people expressing that the homeless man did not deserve to be treated that way and criticizing the influencer’s actions.
