To accompany the launch of Immortals Fenyx Rising‘s first DLC, A New God, a free demo is now available for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
Interestingly, Ubisoft hasn’t merely extracted a portion Immortals Fenyx Rising for players to test the waters as you’d expect. Instead, the developer pieced together a standalone experience that doesn’t appear in the full game, meaning there’s no risk of stumbling into any pesky spoilers. You drop into a specially crafted cluster of islets and set to work unearthing the Secret of the Cyclops. The Immortals Fenyx Rising demo even has a dedicated trailer, which you can peek at just below.
Personally, sampling the no-strings-attached free demo that popped up on Stadia back in October packed enough excitement to trigger a purchase. Indeed, it offers an excellent condensed, hour-long, moreish slice of the satisfying, if flawed blend of fast-paced combat, mythological jesting, and pleasantly challenging puzzles found in Immortals Fenyx Rising.
Immortals Fenyx Rising’s ‘A New God’ DLC
On the other hand, if you’ve already sped through everything the base game has to offer, you can jump in for some new adventures courtesy of the newly-launched A New God DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising. Here’s the official blurb from Ubisoft to whet the appetite:
Taking place after the events of the main campaign, it moves the action to Olympos Palace, a vast complex in the clouds that the Greek gods call home. After their journey across the Golden Isle, Fenyx has been invited to ascend to godhood and join the Pantheon – but first, there’s a test. A series of tests, actually, taking the form of puzzle- and monster-filled vaults, all designed by the gods themselves and built around all-new puzzle elements and abilities.”
It’s available on both consoles and PC standalone, as part of the Immortals Fenyx Rising Season Pass, or free as part of the Ubisoft + subscription. A New God is the first of three planned DLC, so expect more content down the line for those already enjoying their time with the game.
