A man in Indiana managed to scam MAGA supporters by pretending to be Shiloh Hendrix, who was accused of racism, and soliciting donations in her name.

Shiloh Hendrix drew national attention after she was filmed repeatedly using a racial slur toward a black autistic child at a Minnesota playground. The incident sparked widespread backlash, and in July 2026, she was convicted of one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct and sentenced to one year of supervised probation and 200 hours of community service. Despite the condemnation, Hendrix also received significant support, with tens of thousands of people donating more than $800,000 to fundraisers created on her behalf.

The man created an X account using Shiloh Hendrix’s name and pretended to be her. At one point, the account had amassed around 35,000 followers. He later posted a video revealing his true identity. In the video, he thanked MAGA supporters for the donations they had sent while believing he was Hendrix. He also wrote over the video, “I SCAMMED MAGA! THEY FELL FOR IT AGAIN! THANKS FOR THE DONATIONS BLACK LIVES MATT.” He additionally changed his profile bio to read, “IM A 270 POUND BLACK MAN.”

Part of the livestream showed the man dancing, laughing, and saying, “I scammed MAGA.” He also held up a laptop that demonstrated that he controlled the fake Shiloh Hendrix account. At one point, he claimed, “If I call on MAGA right now, they picking up.” He further claimed that he had received donations from MAGA supporters who believed they were sending money to Hendrix. It is unclear how much money he ultimately received.

After his identity and videos exposing the account went viral, he posted another video attempting to explain his actions. In it, he said that his account had suddenly gained thousands of followers. He also referred to the people who donated to him as “low IQ.” Toward the end of the video, he claimed that he had refunded all of the money he received. That claim has not been independently verified.

MAGA Supporters Outraged After Getting Scammed by Indiana Man

The video sparked reactions online. Many MAGA supporters expressed outrage after discovering they had allegedly been deceived by the Indiana man. Some accused him of committing crimes such as wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. “@FBIDirectorKash @FBI @DOJCrimDiv no matter your personal thoughts on her, this is a crime. Two crimes actually. Identity theft/aggravated identity theft and wire fraud. We need to see an arrest here,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “Why do they always film themselves bragging about their crimes? Still gonna plead not guilty…”

More viewers expressed outrage over the alleged scam and criticized the man’s actions. “Yup, and bragging about it. Low IQ swindlers taking advantage of good hearted people helping out a woman— isn’t this against @x #TOS?” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “Commits a felony, then immediately puts himself on video admitting it. Typical. Most likely will not be prosecuted for this crime… because Shiloh is White. Just another day in America.”

The video sparked a conversation about how some people allegedly exploit high profile controversies by impersonating public figures or creating fake accounts to solicit money from supporters. It also led to discussions about whether people who deceive others for financial gain should face legal consequences if they are found to have violated the law.
