The question on everyone’s minds, as they head to watch DC’s The Flash, is if the movie will have a post-credit scene. Post-credit scenes have become staples within the superhero genre, dating back to Nick Fury’s surprise cameo in the post-credit scene of Iron Man. Audiences have become accustomed to waiting at the end of credits. However, should viewers stay for the after-credits for The Flash? Be wary of spoilers, as this feature will detail whether there is a post-credits scene in The Flash.
Does The Flash have a Post-Credit Scene?
The simple answer is yes; The Flash movie does have a Post-Credit Scene.
Barry Allen goes back in time to prevent the murder of his mother, causing his timeline to change. Barry’s version of Batman becomes the Michael Keaton version, Kal-El Superman is replaced by his cousin Kara Zor-El, and Zod brings an army to Earth to invade.
Spoilers for the ending of The Flash. Barry learns to let go of his mother and travels back in time to allow his mother’s death. Nonetheless, he changes one little thing that gives him evidence of his father’s innocence in the murder of his mother.
After proving his father’s innocence, he meets up with Bruce Wayne in front of the courthouse. However, it isn’t a Bruce Wayne he recognizes. Rather than be a Bruce Wayne portrayed by Ben Affleck or Michael Keaton, it is a Bruce Wayne played by George Clooney from Batman and Robin.
The film officially ends with Barry meeting the new Batman of his timeline. The final scene does lead to the post-credit scene played in the middle of the credits.
What’s the Post-Credit Scene in The Flash?
The post-credit scene for The Flash features Barry Allen and Arthur Curry, AKA Aquaman, going out for drinks. Barry attempts to explain alternate timelines to Arthur and how there are multiple Batmen.
Arthur is too drunk to comprehend what Barry is trying to tell him. Arthur asks Barry if there are different versions of himself in the multiverse. Barry claims he’s the same from the previous timeline.
Barry and Arthur try walking home from the bar, but Arthur slumps to the floor and into a puddle. Arthur hands Barry a golden Atlantean ring to pay for the drinks, which Barry just pockets and walks away.
What Does Post-Credit Scene Mean?
The final and post-credits scenes of The Flash are more humorous, making it difficult to parse out how they affect the future of the DCU. From what audiences can gather, Barry Allen, played by Ezra Miller, is in a new timeline with George Clooney’s Batman and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.
