Jason Kelce continues to win the adoration of the public despite a few hiccups with his fanbase. Less than a month after a viral phone-smashing incident involving a young fan, the former Philadelphia Eagles player had a tense exchange with an angry admirer who was denied an autograph.
The drama went down on Thursday as Jason was leaving an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! A throng of autograph seekers camped outside the venue to get his signature, but the retired athlete breezed past them to head to his vehicle. Unfortunately, one of the autograph seekers felt disrespected and lost it. “You ain’t nobody special. You’re some s*** bag, f***ing guy that thinks he’s on some pedestal,” the signature hunter snapped at Jason, yelling several obscenities. The angry man urged the former NFL player not to be a “d**k,” bringing up that even actor Morgan Freeman “signed an autograph with a busted hand.” The barrage of cuss words continued, prompting Travis Kelce‘s elder brother to step out of the vehicle to explain himself.
“I have a habit of not signing for people that follow where I’m going.”
The autograph seeker, however, was not convinced, slamming Jason for having an attitude and calling him a “p**sy.” Per TMZ, he even proceeded to challenge the football center to a fight. “I’ll be running the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Watch for me, you p***y! F*** you,” he said. Jason later succumbed to the pressure, heading over to the autograph seekers to sign everyone’s papers. The heckler also had a change of attitude, apologizing to Jason after he signed his material. “I didn’t mean to be rude,” he explained.
Fans Worry Jason Kelce Making Himself A ‘Target’ Amid Fan Confrontations
As seen in the viral clip, while giving his signature, Jason further explained his initial refusal to sign. “I’m not trying to be mean. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything about it. I promise,” he said. Although it seems Kelce took responsibility for the incident, fans online disagree that he was at fault.
“It’s the entitlement……He didn’t have to give you shit, especially after being so disrespectful,” one fan penned.
“Why do people want another human’s autograph? This is sick behavior, and Jason shouldn’t have signed anything for these low life,” a second comment read.
“After the video, I just saw of Jason Kelce getting verbally assaulted for 2 minutes and then him deciding to get out of his car to sign autographs? Someone give that man a big hug. F**king love that dude,” a third user penned.
“Jason has the patience of a saint,” a fourth fan praised.
Others, however, worried that Jason was doing something to attract all the drama.
“Jesus. If I were Jason, I’d do my best to avoid any future public interaction for a good while,” a fan advised.
“This is two times now where shitty people were able to ‘go viral’ interacting with Jason. I’m worried that Jason is going to make himself a target for these antics,” observed another.
