Have you ever wondered what Jay and Silent Bob would be like in video game form? Well, now you have the chance to find out. Creator Kevin Smith teamed up with crowdsourcing site Fig and released a video for upcoming title Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch. Link to video below, heads up, not safe for work. (NSFW)
The video shows discussion between Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, and Clerks 2 extra Trevor Fehrman discussing the idea of putting Jay and Silent Bob into a video game. Kevin Smith agrees though in the video he seems to not know what a video game is. Jason Mewes, on the other hand, is completely on board with the idea.
The premise behind Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is the due is looking for a way to find an orange julius, but they have been banned from every local mall. It is your duty to help them fight their way to the mall in the next town over. The screenshots that have been released show the game is going to be riddled with easter eggs from the View Askew universe. Which will no doubt make long time fans happy?
One of the elements unique to Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is that there aren’t overpowered punches. Instead Jay fires off insults with the intention of making the enemies self-worth plummet. It’s unclear if this makes them easier to beat, or if they leave you alone altogether. Either way, playing as the hilarious movie due will be an experience not soon forgotten.
According to the official campaign the game will be available on Mac, PC, Steam, and Humble Bundle with no mention of stretch goals. Who knows what will be announced once the initial funding goal of $400,000 is reached.
