Motherhood Takes a Toll On Jessica Alba
The Daily Mail reports that Jessica Alba is dealing with something that most mothers who are raising daughters deal with. Jessica claims she and her 15-year-old daughter Honor were fighting and arguing too much. ‘I was like, I don’t want to live like this,’ she said.
Most moms with teenage daughters can relate to Jessica Alba’s problems. Raising kids is a lot, but when it comes to raising a teenage daughter, it can be completely overwhelming.
A Cry For Help
In the new issues of Real Simple magazine, Jessica Alba opens up about her struggles with her daughter Honor. She also reveals that she sought professional help to aid them through this trying period.
Jessica Alba says she is the first to admit she is imperfect. But, she is a work in progress. The busy mom says that she first began experiencing issues with her daughter Honor when she was around 11 years old. She claims it started off that they were constantly arguing about the dumbest things.
So, to save her sanity and her relationship with Honor, Jessica says they both started attending professional therapy sessions. She says they have learned a lot about each other and themselves. Through therapy, Jessica Alba says she and Honor learned how to cope with their emotions and feelings. But most importantly, they learned to understand each other.
Jessica Alba said, “I was like, I don’t want to live like this. This is not fun. I didn’t want us to have a wedge between us.” Today, she credits therapy for saving her relationship with her teenage daughter, Honor. She adds that it has put her in check and made her a better, more understanding parent. The therapy sessions have also helped Honor get a better understanding of her mother. Has therapy erased all of their mother-daughter issues? No, but it has made surviving the teenage years more bearable for both.
