JK Rowling‘s feud with the Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson isn’t coming to an end anytime soon. The famous author turned up the heat in a recent rant on X, telling the world that she doesn’t plan on ever reconciling with the actors because of what they owe her and other women.
JK Rowling Doesn’t Want Daniel Radcliffe & Emma Watson’s Apologies
On Wednesday, Rowling voiced her thoughts on an independent review of gender identity services for children and young people released by the UK’s National Health Service. The paper, curated by pediatrician Dr. Hilary Cass, stated that healthcare providers and patients “have no good evidence on the long-term outcomes of interventions to manage gender-related distress.”
Cass’s published review is no doubt in line with Rowling’s beliefs about transgender rights and the British native didn’t hesitate to speak on it. In a series of tweets, the 58-year-old stated she was “bloody angry” at those who have labeled opponents of gender-affirming healthcare as transphobic when the proof has been there all along.
“Even if you don’t feel ashamed of cheerleading for what now looks like severe medical malpractice, even if you don’t want to accept that you might have been wrong, where’s your sense of self-preservation?
Will The Harry Potter Stars Ever Apologize To J.K. Rowling?
Following her rant, a concerned fan who agreed with Rowling’s perspective wrote, “Just waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology … safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them.” In response, Rowling tweeted:
Not safe, I’m afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.
Other fans suggested that Watson and Radcliffe would bite their tongues soon, with one internet user stating, “I reckon a few people you used to know owe them and you a huge apology and a public one at that.” Many more, however, praised Rowling’s unforgiveness.
Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have publicly challenged Rowling’s stance on transgender rights on some occasions. It is unknown if the recent findings will sway their opinions.
JK Rowling’s backlash at the Harry Potter actors comes after she made headlines for mocking Scotland’s hate crime law. The philanthropist was slammed for purposely misgendering several prominent Scottish trans women under the guise of an April’s Fool joke.
JK Rowling hasn’t shied away from sharing her controversial thoughts about transgender people and it doesn’t seem she will back down anytime soon.
