Beginning on January 20, 2025, Donald Trump will be the President of the United States for the second time, but not for a second term. Much has happened over the weekend leading up to the inauguration, with the world seemingly falling out of place for a short time. Now, just before Joe Biden leaves The White House to end his term, he decides to do yet another creepy thing. He has always been known for being strangely handsy with others to a noticeable degree, and it seems he wanted to leave that in everyone’s minds just before exiting.
In a video shared on TikTok, you can see Biden leave the White House and, just before getting into his vehicle to drive away, caresses the hand of the Secret Service agent holding the door for him. Immediately after that happens, the agent gestures, reflecting on how odd that was. If you look back on the video, it is a rather strange thing to do to anyone, let alone to Secret Service agents of the president.
Unfortunately, Joe Biden is 82, and many of his gestures, speeches, responses to interview questions, and more reflect that. So, it’s possible that, despite being weird, he meant nothing by the handsy caress. Commenters on the TikTok were quick to judge the former President’s actions; many were excited that he would no longer be our President after the inauguration.
“He was like just get in the car Joe .. thank god it’s the last day for this lol”
I agree that the gesture was pretty creepy. I don’t see why there was even a need to touch the door if it was being held open. However, I also understand that he’s an old man and, despite having been in charge of the US for the last four years, is just doing old-man things.
The 82-year-old former president and former vice president of the Obama Administration has officially stepped down, allowing for a new age of presidency. The weeks leading up to the change seemed to be filled with turmoil, considering the potential ban on TikTok, social media users switching over to the Chinese-developed app RedNote and the Pacific Palisades wildfire in California. Hopefully, things will begin settling down as the new Administration settles in.
