The post has been viewed over 32 million times, and the comments are harsh. “Stop your career is in danger,” a reaction reads. “Why do ur tweets always p*** me off,” another person wrote. Other reactions include, “You’re pushing 40. Grow up” (Perry turned 40 on Oct. 25, 2024, so she will actually be 41 this year), “Can you please go back to space… and just stay there?” and “Why did you kiss the ground when you only flight for four minutes with no physical training and zero effort?”

Perry’s brief trip to space should have been a moment of great excitement, but her reaction to the trip brought out all the haters. The 11-minute flight included Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn. When Perry exited the Jeff Bezos-owned company’s flight, she appeared to have a crying meltdown of sorts, which did not bode well with fans.
She has expressed her excitement about going to space, and her priorities seemed a bit skewed. “I was like, ‘What am I going to wear?'” she told Elle in April. “But seriously, I have wanted to go to space for almost 20 years. I was investigating all of the possible commercial options. Even when Blue Origin was first talking about commercial travel to space, I was like, ‘Sign me up! I’m first in line.’” Her comments were made ahead of the flight on April 14.
Maybe it’s time that Perry found a new dream? Perhaps she should lay off the space narrative for a while so that her critics have time to focus on something else? Possibly her reaction was not what fans wanted to see? The songstress appeared to respond to the criticism during a concert in Mexico City on April 23. She addressed the crowds and asked: “Has anyone ever called your dreams crazy?” She then invited two fans dressed in space-related outfits to join her on stage.
“I want these gentlemen to come on stage because they are dressed like my most current timeline,” she said.
