Kel Mitchell of Nickelodeon calls his co-star, Jennette Mccurdy, courageous for addressing sensitive issues in her recently released memoir. In the memoir titled “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” Mccurdy talked about her early acting years and the challenges she faced. The actress also discussed some of her mother’s actions that she wasn’t proud of and her disappointment at Nickelodeon. In the light of these revelations, fellow Nickelodeon star Mitchell praised her as he talked about his MTV show, “Deliciousness,” in an interview.
Kel Mitchell Calls Jennette McCurdy ‘Courageous’ For Her Memoir
Kel Mitchell called Jennette Mccurdy courageous for her bravery in sharing her experiences and challenges in her memoir. Mitchell went on to state that people have different stories, and the manner in which they want to get out their stories is definitely important. McCurdy had a lot to reveal in her memoir, and Mitchell is proud of her courage in going so.
The Chicago-born actor recalled certain times his colleague had to face certain difficult situations alone. He remembered an instance where Mccurdy faced a tough situation when her mom passed. Kel Mitchell called Jennette McCurdy courageous because he loves hearing her tell her story as she draws strength from it.
Jennette McCurdy Talks About Tough Personal Experiences
Kel Mitchell, actor in Kenan and Kel, didn’t just call Jennette McCurdy courageous for nothing. Her book had lots of revelations that one wouldn’t imagine the 30-year-old writer and actress had to go through. McCurdy’s book analyzed the complicated relationship she had with her mother, Debra. The actress’s mother was quite controlling before she died of cancer when Jennette clocked 21.
Another reason Kel Mitchell possibly called Jenette McCurdy courageous was when she turned down $300,000 to never talk about her experience at Nickelodeon. McCurdy contributed immensely to Nickelodeon to get such treatment from someone she referred to as “The Creator.”
In the exclusive interview with Page Six, Mitchell revealed that one of his best memories at Nickelodeon was his collaboration with McCurdy. He stated that his author friend was super awesome on the set of Sam & Cat. Mitchell disclosed that he got to hang out and have fun with his wife and McCurdy. The actress left showbiz for good after seeking therapy in 2010, and Kel Mitchell was fully in support of McCurdy’s courageous move.
According to the actor and youth pastor, it’s not good to put yourself in a box. It’s wiser to go for different things, just like McCurdy is gradually transitioning into an amazing author. The Season 3 of Mitchell’s show, Deliciousness, on the other hand, is available to stream on MTV.com and Paramount+.
