Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, are reportedly on very shaky ground. Although the royal family fued has been ongoing for years, it seems that the father and son duo’s relationship has taken some extreme hits as of late. Reports that Charles is refusing to take Harry’s calls have surfaced. In addition, the Duke of Sussex is allegedly considering publishing another memoir to spill even more secrets about the monarch. Royal author Tom Quinn is now weighing in on some underlying issues between Harry and Charles.
Quinn reveals that even though Prince Harry rushed to visit King Charles after he was diagnosed with cancer, it wasn’t enough to repair the damage that’s been done in their relationship. Instead, the past continues to rear its ugly head when it comes to the king’s relationship with his youngest son.
King Charles and Prince Harry’s Feud Runs Deep
“Harry’s real beef is that he is convinced Charles always preferred William anyway and not just because William is the heir. Harry’s difficulties when he was a teenager and his increasing volatility as an adult terrified Charles who turned to the far more stable, risk-free William,” Tom Quinn told The Mirror.
The author went on to reveal that Harry’s erratic behavior in his youth led Charles to form an even more solid bond with William. Of course, Harry was seemingly unhappy to know that his father favored his older brother over him.
“Charles increasingly saw William as a safe pair of hands and Harry as too emotionally unstable. Deep down Harry knows this and he deeply resents it,” Quinn continued.
It seems that Harry has always been considered the black sheep of the family. Meanwhile, William and Charles appear to have the same goals in mind as the older brother prepares for the day when he ascends to the throne.
Prince Harry’s feud with King Charles and Prince William is heartbreaking. Many fans still hold out hope that the family can make amends in the future. However, with every passing day, it may be increasingly difficult for the royals to mend their rift.
