Valorant fans are in a frenzy after a recent leak revealed plans for a movie adaptation of Riot Games’ highly popular tactical shooter. A first look at the film will be revealed with a trailer in October next year before it releases in 2025. The Valorant fanbase has been chomping at the bit for a proper adaptation after Riot struck gold with the League of Legends Netflix series, Arcane.

Plans for a Valorant movie adaptation were first uncovered by X user Kingdom Laboratories with the news later being confirmed by data miners. Clicking the YouTube link in the initial post reveals that a trailer for the movie will premiere on October 2024. The Valorant movie will reportedly be developed in China although there’s no word on who exactly will be handling the animation duties. Much like League of Legends, Valorant has built up a faithful fanbase not only for its second-to-none tactical shooting but its stylish cinematics and characters which add heaps of compelling lore to the world of Valorant.
That’s not necessarily a cause for concern though. Arcane was the first major series from French animation studio Fertiche, and with guidance from Riot Games, that show went on to win a freaking Emmy. It’s being reported that the Valorant movie will feature a slightly different animation style from Arcane and will be more akin to the United Together cinematic which was released earlier this year. There’s also no indication as of yet as to who could lead the voice cast for the adaptation.

It’s expected that Riot Games will share more details about the Valorant movie when the time is right and whether this will be a full-on theatrical release or if it will follow in Arcane’s footsteps and be exclusive to Netflix.
