Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell’s dream of starting a family has come true. Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell Welcome A Daughter
Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell shared the exciting news by posting a photo of their newborn daughter on Instagram. The photo shows little Tove resting in a bassinet. She’s dressed in a beige onesie and cozy floral embroidered hat while lying on top of a pile of blankets. Another blanket hanging off the side of the bassinet featured her name in golden letters. Tove looked peaceful as her mother put a hand on her belly.
The new parents shared their daughter’s full name in their accompanying caption. “Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell,” they wrote, before giving a shoutout to their surrogate and other important people in their lives. “Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way.”
Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell then shared a message for their daughter personally. “We love you to the moon and back again…,” they said.
Riley Keough, Jordana Brewster, Nina Dobrev, Katherine Langford, and Billie Lourd were among the many celebrities who wished the couple congratulations on their baby.
Collins’ Emily In Paris co-star, Ashley Park, also shared a celebratory message for her and McDowell. “Mom and dadddddd ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she commented.
Fans also couldn’t be happier for the couple. Many were surprised over their baby news considering they never even knew Collins and McDowell were expecting. Fans said they were crying “tears of joy” for the pair and expressed their excitement over them starting their “incredible journey” of parenthood.
The Couple Has Come A Long Way
Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell first met on the set of his movie, Gilded Rage, in 2019. After falling in love, the Mirror Mirror actress confirmed their relationship that August by posting the couple’s first photo together on Instagram. By September 2020, the two had made things official by getting engaged. They tied the knot the following September.
Following their nuptials, Collins and McDowell confirmed they saw kids in their future. During an October 2024 interview with E! News, the director and writer told the publication that they were interested in moving to the “next stage” of their relationship by starting a family. “We’ll see when it happens!” he said.
Since that was only two months ago, it appears the couple had already begun the surrogacy process but were just keeping their baby plans under wraps until the official reveal.
Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell are just the latest celebrity couple to have gone through surrogacy. Others who have gone through the process include Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, and Paris Hilton and Carter Reum, among many others.
