A Louisiana suspect facing several serious felony charges briefly escaped from a courthouse while preparing for a court appearance, marking the second time authorities say he has fled under similar circumstances. According to WBRZ, the Louisiana suspect escaped shortly after 10 a.m. while being transported for a court proceeding. The search ended quickly. Investigators said Stevenson was found hiding underneath a truck roughly one block from the courthouse and was taken back into custody less than 30 minutes after the escape began.
The suspect is currently awaiting trial in a separate criminal case involving allegations of first-degree rape, aggravated kidnapping, armed robbery, and possession of stolen property. The charges remain pending, and he has not been convicted.
