An Idaho fun center owner was just minutes away from leaving for the night when a violent storm caused a roof-drain pipe to break, sending water pouring into the building.
Sidney “Sid” Davis had stayed behind to watch the storm outside Extreme Rush in Pocatello. That brief delay may have saved the business from significantly worse damage.
Security camera footage shared by Extreme Rush shows Sidney “Sid” Davis, one of the fun center’s owners, finishing up for the night when the incident unfolded. The video quickly took off online, receiving millions of views and becoming one of the business’s biggest social media posts.
Davis had stepped outside to watch the storm when he heard a crash behind him. He rushed back inside and found water pouring into the building after a pipe connected to the roof drainage system broke.
Security footage shows Davis initially staring at the sudden waterfall before springing into action.
Instead of heading home, Davis shut off power to the building, moved items away from the water and called for help.
Other employees quickly arrived, and the team worked to remove water and protect equipment. Extreme Rush later credited Davis with potentially preventing significantly worse damage by still being at the building when the pipe broke.
Viewers Can’t Get Over Sid’s Reaction
Viewers couldn’t help but laugh at Davis’ initial stunned reaction as he watched water suddenly pour into the building.
“I’m not gonna lie, I still would’ve clocked out,” one person joked.
“Standing there stunned is so real because what can you even DO,” another wrote.
Others joked about the unexpected “water feature,” but Davis didn’t stand around for long. Within moments, he was working to shut down power and protect the business from further damage.
The flooding initially forced Extreme Rush to close while employees dried out the building and assessed the damage. Despite the dramatic amount of water seen in the footage, the business said its equipment appeared to have escaped the worst.
The recovery moved even faster than expected. Extreme Rush later announced that it was back in business for the weekend, turning what initially looked like a potentially lengthy shutdown into a remarkably short interruption.
