A mother in Slidell, Louisiana, has seen herself and her family embroiled in a years-long battle with their neighbors. Presumably an elderly couple, she said she keeps accusing her sons of trespassing on a river they claim is theirs. This is not true, and while the authorities have cleared the boys of any wrongdoing and the HOA has even sided with the family, the neighbors won’t stop.
The controversy came to light thanks to Alisha Arieux, whose username is boymom4life77. She is a popular content creator who, among other things, has shared the years-long feud with her neighbors. The clip attached above, the last entry in the quarrel, garnered 331,800 views, 24,000 likes, and more than 1,500 comments.
This time around, the Louisiana woman detailed that her neighbors had once again complained that her children were in the river. According to them, they were “trespassing,” although the water doesn’t belong to them. This complaint happened, she explained, even though they have been ticketed for harassment of juveniles by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
The mother has endured this legal battle for years. In a separate clip, she accused her neighbors of harassing her family after her children attempted to fish and use their kayak in the river. To stop them, they even put a fence in the river. In turn, Alisha hired a crew to excavate on her property, which allowed the water to flow past the fence.
“[The neighbors] fought the state, lost against the state, and still have that citation against them. They were told by the Wildlife and Fisheries, as well as other agencies, that they do not own the water. The boys are legally allowed to fish. The boys are legally allowed to boat,” Alisha said.
HOA Complaint
This time around, the neighbors complained to the HOA, saying that the boys were trespassing. The HOA president reached out to Alisha about the complaint and showed her a 7-second clip of her boys traveling through the fence in their boat.
The complaint was discussed during a meeting. It was agreed that the complaint was “not an HOA matter” and that the HOA would “no longer respond” to similar complaints.
“The beauty behind this is that we are slowly but surely pecking away at justice and shutting her down because we are only doing what we can legally do,” the Louisiana woman said. “The fact that she can’t seem to wrap that around her brain is mind-boggling to me.”
Reactions
Viewers joined Alisha in bashing the neighbors for their attitude and accusations. One said, “The fact that this has been going on for YEARS is actually INSANE.” Another one commented, “I can’t believe you’re still dealing with this! I’m so sorry!”
Some pointed out the arguably ridiculousness of the complaint based on the 7-second video alone. One wrote, “They must have too much time on their hands for that short clip to bother them.” Alisha responded, “They are miserable.”
While Alisha contemplates whether to pursue further legal action, it is safe to say that this saga of neighbor hostility is far from over.
