Aniplex Online Fest 2023 was held on September 9 through its YouTube channel and among all the updates from Aniplex, the release window of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgisnacht Rising was revealed, and we might see it in 2024. Like its past editions, this festival announced the latest information about the series of this same studio. This movie will continue the 2013 movie Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion. To accompany the reveal, we saw a fantastic trailer showing Homura’s struggle in this new world Madoka created.
The Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgisnacht Rising Movie Will Premiere in the Winter of 2024
It’s been 10 years since the last Madoka movie, and thanks to the Aniplex Online Fest, fans already have a date for the next installment in Winter 2024. However, Rebellion was not the last we saw of these magical girls. Aniplex was also working on the spin-off anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record, which has 3 seasons that aired in 2020 through 2022. Magia Record arc follows the story of Iroha Tamaki, who is looking for her sister Ui and trying to solve the mysteries of Kamihama City. In this new movie, the story will focus on the Holy Quintet consisting of Madoka, Sayaka, Mami, Kyoko, and Homura.

In the upcoming Walpurgisnacht Rising movie, the girls have several important loose ends to resolve. During Rebellion, Homura had stolen Madoka and her powers for herself. At the same time, the girls started to prepare to defeat their most powerful enemy in the series: Walpurgisnacht. We will wait for more information from Aniplex now that we finally have a release window. Many fans are excited for the return of this colorful quintet of magical girls and Kyubey, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them when the movie hits the big screen later in 2024.
