Madonna celebrated her 66th birthday on Aug. 16 and did it in style! Several days later (and likely after the hype had died down), the “Like A Virgin” singer posted a bunch of pictures on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into her life and her celebrations. And it looked like quite the lavish affair.
These photos were a great way for fans to learn more about what the Queen of Pop has been up to, and it appears she took a trip to Italy for her big day. Many of her loved ones feature in the photos, including her six children, Lourdes, Rocco, David, Mercy, and the twins Stella and Estere. Her rumored boyfriend Akeem Morris was also in attendance (she is even holding his hand in one picture if that gives us more proof of their relationship status).
Madonna captioned the snaps with a simple message, “La Dolce Vita,” followed by emojis of cake, a champagne class, and the Italian flag. Unsurprisingly, many fans wanted to share their thoughts, and the post was filled with comments from fans.

“You are a Living opera of art,” a comment reads. “You look gorgeous,” another fan wrote.
One of the comments that stands out is from a fan who took issue with the family not smiling in their posed photograph. “Smile for the camera at least once. The family photo everyone looks miserable. It’s meant to be a Happy Birthday,” the comment reads. Another fan shared similar thoughts, writing, “Do those twins ever smile? The rest of Madonna’s children do but those twins…you may catch the odd one of them smiling…weird.”
Despite the criticism, it looked like it was a beautiful birthday.
