A man is planning to fly across the globe to move into Billie Eilish’s mansion in Malibu, California, and is raising funds to achieve his goal. This comes in direct response to the singer’s Grammys speech, where she declared that “no one is illegal on stolen land.”
The man in question is Drew Pavlou, an Australian man who describes himself as a “western civilization enjoyer” and a “patriot.” After hearing Eilish’s speech at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, Drew knew that he had a golden opportunity to expose what he believes is her hypocrisy.
“Big news, everybody. I’ve decided today to move into Billie Eilish’s 6 million dollar Malibu beachside mansion,” Drew said in a first video. “I really can’t wait to move in. It’s now my house. I wanna thank Billie Eilish as well for her generosity. Thank you so much.”
Drew is referencing Eilish’s acceptance speech for winning Song of the Year for Wildflower, a song originally released in 2024. With the statuette in her hands, and referencing the ICE protests and the mass deportations in America, the singer said, “As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land.”
Fundraiser Deleted, New One Ready
After announcing that he had bought tickets to fly to California, Drew then managed to set up a GoFundMe fundraiser. He did manage to reach his $3,000 goal, but the crowdfunding platform deleted the fundraiser because they were unable to verify his connection.
“GoFundMe deleted my fundraiser to fly to America and move into Billie Eilish’s mansion. Completely unfair persecution. I will start a new fundraiser with another platform,” Drew wrote on X.
He ended up following through with his intention and managed to set up a GiveSendGo fundraiser. In its description, Drew clarified that he will only set up a tent in Eilish’s driveway and “will leave when they formally ask me to leave.”
“Let’s create this beautiful world without borders,” he added.
The majority supported Drew’s attempt to “take over” the celebrity California mansion, taking it as a political statement rather than an actual attempt to invade someone’s home.
“Isn’t it funny how Hollywood celebrities with big houses and huge gates like to lecture the rest of us,” one user said. Another one commented, “Celebrities’ performative outrage is my new favorite sitcom.” A third one added, “Celebrities shouldn’t be involved in politics.”
Most likely, Drew will be told to leave as soon as he arrives, given that he has gone extremely viral with his intentions. He would probably take that as a win, as it would arguably prove his point.
