There's still plenty more Marvel movies coming our way.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information.

San Diego Comic-Con starts on Thursday, July 21st. Prior to the show, Marvel released concept art for two upcoming films: Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Doctor Strange. Both films are part of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First up is Doctor Strange, which shows Benedict Cumberbatch in action as the Sorcerer Supreme:

Magic has been introduced in Marvel films before, but Doctor Strange takes the concept to the extreme and will feature some very otherworldly events. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, and Tilda Swinton. It releases November 14, 2016.

The other concept art released is for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and is a bit more revealing about what to expect from the film. Check it out below:

Baby Groot is back, as could be expected. But a few more characters appearing with the Guardians might be surprising. Nebula, played by Karen Gillan, who was a villain in the first film, looks to be on the side of the Guardians. Michael Rooker’s Yondu also appears with them. The concept art also gives the first look at Mantis. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel. It releases May 5th, 2017.

Guardians of the Galaxy was a blockbuster (and somewhat surprising) success when it was released in 2015, winding up as the third highest grossing film of the year and hauling in almost $800 million worldwide. Marvel is hoping for similar success from both the sequel and from Doctor Strange. Stay tuned for more information on the films coming out of San Diego Comic-Con, along with some trailers if they are released.

Excited for Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy 2? Or has there been too much Marvel in the theaters lately? Let us know in the comments below.
