While it seems many states across the country are having a hard time, one resident believes Massachusetts is among the worst, claiming that the quality of life has dropped a lot. This concerned Reddit user says that some areas in Massachusetts are as bad as West Virginia, and thinks that some of the main culprits are unemployment, crime, and the housing crisis, among others. And despite some people agreeing with the person, a few think they might be exaggerating a bit.
Reddit user AdMoney5317 posted on the Massachusetts subreddit a thread titled “The quality of life in MA is rapidly deteriorating.” As you can imagine, the post gathered a lot of views quickly, making it viral due to what the person was saying.
According to OP, Massachusetts is considered one of the best states when it comes to job growth, but they mention how people keep losing their jobs, with more than 1,000 being laid off in June.
They also mention that anything west of Worcester County is similar to West Virginia, and mention how all neighborhoods feel unsafe. On top of that, OP says water bills are way too high and that there are E. coli risks from drinking water. And if that wasn’t enough, OP wrapped up the post claiming that the housing situation is worse than it’s ever been.
As expected, this thread resonated with many people, who complained about the same reasons. Yet, some tried to be a bit more realistic, saying that the quality of life is low all around the US.
