Maya Vander has revealed that she has regrets about leaving Selling Sunset. But for those who followed her story, she left for a good reason. A truly heart-wrenching tragedy hit her life. Maya Vander had a miscarriage and lost a child. Anyone can completely understand why, in the wake of that, one would want to live their lives in private and focus on themselves. It’s not the kind of thing anyone would want to share publicly. In her own life, the loss shifted her focus from reality TV to family, and realistically, who can blame her?
But even with that tragedy fresh on her mind, she still has some genuine regrets about leaving the show, Selling Sunset. She has chosen to focus on her tribe and her Miami-based business but still misses the show.
Maya Vander on Selling Sunset
“‘I think I’m always going to have regrets [about leaving Selling Sunset],’ Maya revealed to Us Weekly during a recent interview. ‘But at the end of the day, I have … priorities, and my priorities are my family and taking care of myself. I had a very stressful [year], obviously, with my pregnancy loss, so I think it was the right decision. All [the Selling Sunset girls] reached out to me [after my pregnancy losses] — all of them,’ Maya shared more recently. ‘So I am gonna miss them.’”
It can be difficult to step away from the spotlight, so we do encourage and support her decision. Obviously, her children factored into the choice a great deal. That alone says a whole lot about Maya Vander as a human being. Being on TV isn’t just about you. It affects those around you just as much, especially children who do not fully understand it yet.
Maya Vander will always have regrets about leaving Selling Sunset, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the right choice.
