Meghan Markle is trying to be supportive of her husband Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage has been the subject of media scrutiny since their 2020 exit from the Royal Family. The couple’s relationship reportedly lead to a rift between Harry and his family, including his brother William. But with Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis, Harry is ready to make amends with William, something that’s causing concern for Meghan.
Meghan Markle Believes Prince Harry Can’t Trust Prince William
Although Meghan and Harry made several public appearance with William and Kate during their visits to London, tensions still remain between the foursome. Yet, the Royal Family’s recent health issues has given Harry a change of heart.
After King Charles’ announced his cancer diagnosis in February, Harry immediately traveled to his father’s side. With Charles and Harry’s relationship on the mend, Harry’s ready to do the same with William and Kate. Harry’s scheduled to visit the U.K. next month and reportedly plans to meet with his brother and sister-in-law. However, Meghan is concerned about her husband’s plans.
According to OK!, a royal insider claims that Meghan is worried that Harry is setting himself up for heartbreak.
But she knows deep down that Harry wants to fix the relationship and the Kate news has made him more determined to try and do it. But she thinks Harry is being naive and that he still can’t trust William. She’s terrified he’ll be made a fool again and William will use him. She knows she makes better decisions than Harry as she won’t let her emotions rule her, but she fears she’s losing control over this situation.
The insider then added that there’s no changing Harry’s mind.
Meghan knows she is facing a losing battle when it comes to Harry reaching out to Kate and William to try and sort through their differences, but she thinks he’s making a big mistake. She obviously feels sympathy for Kate and what she’s going through, but in her mind, it doesn’t change things.
While an illness tends to bring families together and resolve past issues, this might not be the case for The Duchess of Sussex. While’s she sympathetic towards Kate, she still has resentment for the way she was treated by her in-laws.
As one royal expert told Daily Mirror:
Meghan hasn’t been able to let go of her past grievances. Clocking over four years since their Royal departure, Meghan still finds herself aggrieved by the turmoil they endured, unable to fully forgive the Windsors for an apology that never came.
2024 is shaping up to be another dramatic year for the Royal Family. Charles and Kate’s health issues is everyone’s main priority as outpouring of support begins. As for whether, this will help heal the rift with Harry and Meghan, that remains to be seen.
