Melissa McCarthy is one of the best-known names in the comedic sector of Hollywood, and she has now joined Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. Season 4 of the series is moving lead stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez to Los Angeles, meaning they’re going all-in on the tradition of celebrity guest stars. Melissa McCarthy will be joining Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longoria, and Eugene Levy in the new season, though we don’t know much about her role in the new trailer.

‘Only Murders in the Building’ Teaser Introduces Melissa McCarthy

For those unaware, Only Murders in the Building is a Hulu comedy-drama that premiered in 2021. The series follows Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora (Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez), a trio of true-crime fans who decide to start their own podcast to investigate the mysterious deaths happening in their apartment building, the Arconia. Only Murders in the Building has a history of star-studded guest appearances, with Season 2 starring Amy Ryan and Paul Rudd. Season 3 brought Rudd back and added Meryl Streep, and Season 4 of the show, which is set to premiere in August, is billing itself as “the starriest season yet.”

Melissa McCarthy marks the latest edition to Only Murders in the Building Season 4, making a brief appearance in a teaser released earlier this week. We already know Molly Shannon, Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Kumail Nanjiani, Jane Lynch and many more stars will be making appearances, though their roles – like McCarthy’s – haven’t been revealed yet.
