With only one day left until Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain the prices for the micro-transactions included in the game have been revealed. The images below were found on the Metal Gear Network, showing a list of the Base Coins and their corresponding prices. These coins can be used in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain‘s online mode, Forward Operating Base. This mode takes cues from games like Bloodborne in which enemy players can invade other’s bases to try and steal resources. These coins however, do not translate to the core online mode in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain as that will not be released upon launch.
Prices for MGS V Coin Packages:
- 100 Coins —– $1.65
- 550 Coins —– $7.95
- 1150 Coins —- $15.95
- 3500 Coins — $ 48.95
- 6000 Coins —$ 79.95
Personally I am not a fan of micro-transactions in a full priced video game, but given Konami’s latest controversies it’s not really surprising. This is the company that turned Silent Hill into a slot machine and removed MGS creator Hideo Kojima’s name from the box art after all. What do you think of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain having micro-transactions? Are you fine with them being in a Triple A title or should they be removed? Sound off below!
