A funeral reportedly held in Michigan was mocked online after featuring a red casket, two goats, and rap music during the service.

The X account that shared the footage claimed the deceased was a recent graduate from Grand Rapids who had been shot and killed, although this information was not confirmed. In the video, several young men in red suits are seen carrying the casket. The casket itself was predominantly painted red, with white and black also featured in its design.

I can only imagine why.

The overly-seasoned red casket, red pallbearers, and red accessories lead me to believe it was gang related.

Some viewers described the funeral as unusual after two people appeared to be leading two goats on leashes. They walked the goats as a man between them held a phone and a speaker. The group then played what appeared to be a rap song, which some viewers considered inappropriate for the occasion.

As the song played, people at the funeral began walking, with those carrying the casket following the group leading the goats. Most attendees also wore red. Toward the end of the video, some people appeared to start dancing and cheering.

The unusual elements shown at the funeral, including the red casket, two goats, and rap music, may lead to mixed reactions online. While some viewers may consider these choices inappropriate or unusual for a funeral, the ceremony could also reflect the personal way the deceased’s loved ones chose to honor his life. While some viewers considered the choices inappropriate or unusual, the video does not provide enough context to determine the significance of the red clothing, goats, music, or other elements of the procession.

Viewers Mock and Criticize Michigan Funeral

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the Michigan funeral over the scenes shown in the video, with some believing that the unconventional elements were highly inappropriate for a funeral. “It’s like they’re mocking his entire existence. It’s so [expletive] gross,” one person wrote. Another person asked, “What the [expletive] is going on with the goats?” Someone else responded, “I think it’s in reference to ‘greatest of all time’. They’re calling the kid who died the GOAT and they also got actual goats idk.”

More people commented on the funeral, with some viewers expressing concern that attendees appeared to walk over other graves. “I don’t care about any of this except I just need someone to tell me if it is really ok to just march a mob of people over top of all those graves or not,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Who walks on gravestones like that? So disrespectful.”

Whatever the meaning behind the unusual procession, the two goats became one of the biggest questions among viewers. Some interpreted them as a literal reference to “GOAT,” or “greatest of all time,” although the video itself does not confirm why they were included.
