Apparently, even on Mother’s Day, there are certain people who don’t want you to have a good time celebrating such an important holiday. When vendors set up at a celebration in Michigan, a wild Karen couldn’t let them be and had to add some dramatic flair into the mix.
A video posted to r/PublicFreakout shows what happened when a Karen decided to ruin someone’s days at a Mother’s Day event. In the video, a group of vendors are set up under a tent and preparing food for people. An angry, loud Karen is standing next to them and demanding, “Do you have a permit?! If you don’t, you cannot sell here!” She instructs them with her finger as she loudly tells them what they can and can’t do. It isn’t clear whether she’s in charge of the event or just likes bossing people around.
The Karen doesn’t just stop there. She continues yelling in front of everybody there, “I told you before! Get a permit!” She then demands that they show her their permit, but at this point, almost everyone is ignoring her. When nobody gives her the attention she’s craving, she says she’ll “call the cops,” and they can ask for their permit.
It’s at this point that you can hear fireworks firing off in the background. She immediately pivots, stomping off as quickly as possible across the yard. She can be heard screaming, “Hey!” and waving her arms around, clearly telling them to cease operations. Then you can hear her threatening them with the cops as well, giving them the same tongue-lashing.
People Had a Field Day Mocking Her Online
The video immediately started making the rounds across the internet due to the audacity of this woman and her inability to let people enjoy their Mother’s Day. She just couldn’t leave well enough alone.
Commenters on Reddit were wondering why the Michigan woman was even there in the first place. “Like she’s obviously not watching the soccer (?) game or buying anything,” one Reddit user wrote. Another user’s theory was that her children “went no-contact” and she’s there to make others “miserable” on Mother’s Day.
Others theorized that the Karen actually enjoys the rage. “Omg, she’s in heaven! She can do this the whole day and couldn’t have asked more,” they wrote. Someone chimed in that, luckily, she was “getting her steps in.”
It’s one of those situations that sure, she isn’t wrong technically, but it’s a park and people are enjoying a holiday.
