A woman in Michigan recently encountered a frightening and deeply unsettling situation when a man she had canceled a date with suddenly showed up at her front door uninvited. She shared Ring camera footage on TikTok, which is now going viral, showing the man opening the glass door at the entrance of her home and telling her he had come to check up on her. The video has left many netizens concerned for her safety and wondering how the man allegedly tracked her down.
The single mom said she and the man had planned to go to the beach on the day of the incident, but she canceled because she had an “uneasy feeling” about him. According to her, she noticed several red flags and felt he was becoming increasingly obsessive in his messages.
After turning him down, she said the man repeatedly tried to contact her through Instagram, where they had been communicating. “He was calling me through Instagram and calling me and calling me and it was just becoming a lot,” the woman recalled. “I kind of gave him an explanation on why I wasn’t gonna make it, and I kind of just left it at that. But it was like he was not accepting that answer on why I couldn’t make the date.”
The Man Pays Her a Visit
Later that day, after returning from shopping with her 9-year-old, the woman said she noticed a man near her home who looked like the same person she had canceled on. As if to confirm her suspicion, the man reportedly yelled, “Hey!” at her, which was enough to make her bolt inside the house.
In the Ring camera footage, the man walked up to her home and opened the front door but did not go inside. He also appeared to tell her that he had come to make sure she was not “being abused.” The video did not capture him leaving, so it remains unclear how long he stood at the entrance.
The woman claimed she never shared her address with him while they were communicating, which made the entire incident feel “creepy” and “scary” to her. She said she eventually contacted police and filed a report.
