Among the flood of new campaign footage of Halo 5: Guardians comes an interview that GameSpot conducted with Xbox boss Phil Spencer. The big boss himself admitted to playing Halo 5 at various stages of the development cycle and he’s feeling confident that the game will have a smooth launch.

“Every time I’ve been down to 343, the first thing that they want to talk about is how they’re doing with multiplayer and the robustness that we mentioned,” said Spencer. “No team is focused on it more than 343. The planning and process teams have gone through has been great, and I’m confident in how it will launch based on the results that we’re seeing.”

“I feel good that the teams all up have taken the lessons of last holiday of some teams missing the bar that they wanted to hit. You’re always going to have issues here and there, and you kind of manage through it, but by-and-large, those releases have gone well.”

Phil Spencer was obviously paying attention to the launch of The Master Chief Collection, which had a less than stellar launch last year. After what has been released so far, Halo 5: Guardians looks to be on track to turn out to be a solid game at launch. We’re a little over a month away and most reactions seem to be positive to what we have been shown.

Halo 5: Guardians releases exclusively on the Xbox One on October 27.
